OUR STAFF
Our team is made up of ten committed individuals with different skills and backgrounds. Our team includes:
- A nurse
- A teacher
- 2 theologians
- 2 Legal Assistants
- A performing artist with a media background.
We hope to accomplish this through:
- Men’s Ministry, Women’s ministry, Teens Ministry, Primary health care
- School Ministry (Includes Early Childhood Development, After School Program)
- Community Development (Includes: Community Gardening and Sewing, Home Visits)
- Resource center (Includes: Library and Computer lab)
- Soup Kitchen
Across all these programs we offer spiritual, social, and health teaching. We achieve this through Bible studies, primary health care, education, community home visits, and gardening.
We are an organization that believes Mostly in Education to end poverty. We believe that if we can educate a child from as young as 3 years and see them through their years of school then we have changed their future and that of their families. our prayer is that one day they will look back and see how much God cared for them and how is carefully placed his fingerprints in all the life that the handpicked them to be part of this program. We also hope that one day they will offer a helping hand to someone in need. We get up every day and we are encouraged because of that hope, we might not be there to witness it, but we believe that the seed we are planting now shall surely grow.

about us
Beauty for Ashes is a non-profit organization operating from the Jya Sands Area in Inanda. The ministry has been running for the past 13 years, 10 of which were mostly on an ad hoc basis.

OUR HISTORY
Beauty from Ashes Organisation started under a tree in the Kya Sands informal settlement Section B. We operated there for almost 5 years.
As our impact in the community gained significance, that didn’t come without challenges and setbacks of their own.
One morning when we returned from holidays, we found the whole area covered with garbage, the community had taken and used the site for dumping. Given the enormity of the need and our burden to address it, though we were discouraged, we resolved as a team to look for a site around the same area and within the same week we found another space under a tree on the other side of Kya Sands, Pipeline.
It wasn’t long after we started that we instantly received lots of encouragement and love. We were well received as the community already knew about the work we had already carried out in their community up to that time. We operated at this place for about 3 years until we met a pastor of a church nearby. He allowed us to use his premises for all our programs and we have been here ever since.
